The present volume contains the papers presented at the 3rd International Nordic-Baltic Workshop held in Sopot on April 14-16,1994. The themes of the papers focus around the integrative perspectives for the Baltic part of Europe, seen primarily from the point of view of economies and their infrastructures, as well as societal Systems. These papers include also some environmental traits in due recognition of the fact that it is the resource system of the Baltic Sea that constitutes the most tangible of integrating mechanisms, and that in just this area we have to somehow follow the developments of the initiatives which are indeed the most numerous.
