Architektura XXI wieku reprezentowana jest przez Perot Museum of Nature and Science zaprojektowane przez Thoma Mayne’a (2012), Winspear Opera House autorstwa pracowni Foster and Partners (2009), Wyly Theater w AT&T Performing Arts Center autorstwa REX/OMA (2009), oraz Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge zaprojektowany przez Santiago Calatravę. Perot Museum of Nature and Science jest wyjątkowym przykładem zrównoważonego budynku z certyfikatem LEED o wysokiej efektywności energetycznej i świadomym podejściu do projektowania krajobrazu. (Polish) Description in another language: Dallas is the third-largest city in Texas after Houston and San Antonio. Dallas's skyline has twenty buildings over 150 meters in height. Some of the buildings in Dallas dates from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. However, the most of the notable architecture in the city is from the modernist and postmodernist eras, including Reunion Tower, the JFK Memorial, I. M. Pei's Dallas City Hall and the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center (1989), and Dallas Museum of Art with extension by Edward Larrabee Barnes. Good examples of postmodernist skyscrapers are Fountain Place, Bank of America Plaza, Renaissance Tower, JPMorgan Chase Tower, and Comerica Bank Tower. 21st Century architecture is represented by the Perot Museum of Nature and Science designed by Thom Mayne (2012), the Winspear Opera House by Foster and Partners (2009), Wyly Theater at AT&T Performing Arts Center by REX/OMA (2009) and Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge designed by Santiago Calatrava (2012). The Perot Museum of Nature and Science is an exceptional example of LEED certified sustainable building with high energy efficiency and sensitive approach to the landscape design. The museum’s roof is covered with stones and drought-tolerant plants creating a hardscape of specific for the Texas ecosystem. The roof also features solar thermal (hot water) panels, and a rainwater collection system. (English)
