Description	Inflammation of respiratory system leading to the imp air ament of alveolus ventilation and gas diffusion are the cause of acid-base balance* disturbances /ABB/ conditioned by rising of carbon dioxide pressure in blood (11], The disturbances of functions of particular organs are the result of hypercapnle with coexisting hypoxaemia* Tissue anoxia then affects significantly all the elements of organism metabolism* l.e. protein, carbohydrate* fat* hormonal and mineral metabolism. One df the most common diseases occurring in calves are the disturbances of respiratory system. It is connected* among other things* with too early transportation of calves to new places* causing hypolmmunity as the.effect of adaptatlve stress* as'well as unsuitable hygienic conditions at this stage of rearing. The past disease in young calves has an undesirable Influence on the effect of their rearing. Moreover' as the consequence it can also Influence their efficiency when they reach productive age. Thus a question arises whether after pneumonia the ABB parameters come to full stability in those animals. The aim of this paper was to determine the ABB parameters in healthy calves calves with clinical symptoms as well as in convalescents regarded as cured and kept in the same environmental conditions.
